Horse care is part of every lesson at The Horse Farm. Students help get the horse ready by brushing, saddling & bridling as they are able, and help put the horse away after the lesson. Barn chores are also part of lessons to develop responsibility, attention to detail and teamwork between rider and horse.
An evaluation lesson is required for all students. It is recommended that children are at least seven years old. Lessons are private or semi-private to allow for individualized attention and maximize learning. Lesson slots last about an hour, but safety of the student dictates the length of the lesson, not the clock. Parents are expected to be in attendance during their child's lesson. A weekly lesson is required to reserve your lesson slot. Please note that makeups are rarely available due to a full schedule. Private lessons are $75 each and semi-private lessons are $65 each. A package of four lessons can be purchased at a discount by paying with check or cash. Lessons may also be purchased online using the links below, which include fees associated with electronic payment. A completed Student Information Sheet and Riding Waiver is required and is found by clicking the blue box below. |
