Meet The Horse Farm Horses If it were not for my loyal horse partners, I would not be able to realize my passion of teaching riding. These are absolutely incredible horses who are willing to work with riders of all levels and skills and without them, I could not succeed. Thank you Lord, for these horses and the people who put them in my life.
Casper is an adorable 17 year old registered Miniature Horse gelding. Casper is 35 1/2 inches tall and stars in our Pony Pals program. He loves small children and patiently waits for their hugs. He will walk & trot for small children with a smile on his face. Casper is our farm ambassador and has visited at The Columbia Public Library, Equine Education Days, The Columbia Farmers Market and the Woodcrest Chapel Easter Eggstravaganza. He loves to go new places and make new friends. Casper is fond of carrots. Thank you Gigi for giving up this special treasure!
Skip is a handsome registered 3 year old Quarter Horse gelding. Thanks to MFA Golden Years and beet pulp, you would never guess his real age. He is a gentle giant who spent many summers of his life giving trail rides in the Grand Canyon. He is honest and kind and will stand quietly for as long as you care to pet him. Skip will willingly work both English and Western in the arena or out on the trail. Skip is semi retired and carries only lightweight riders at the walk & trot 3-4 days a week. Skip loves peppermints and carrots. Thank you Amy and Andrea for bringing this great hearted horse into my life!
Star is a beautiful registered 13 year old black bay American Quarter Horse mare. She is willing, eager to please and loves to be ridden both in the arena and out on the trail. She is very smart, perceptive and level headed. Star is a talented horse with training in reining, jumping, dressage, hunt seat, halter, and trail riding. Star loves peppermint candy and apples. Thank you Lauren for taking a chance on us with Star!
Sugar lives up to her namesake in color and in disposition. She is a very sweet gentle mare with a big soft eye and a tender heart. Sugar is a 22 year old Welsh Pony that loves to be around people. She rides English and Western and goes about her job of teaching people to ride with a soft smile on her face. Sugar has a soft spot for little girls and eagerly steps up to the fence to be petted. Sugar likes carrots, but she prefers hugs.
Many thanks to Austin, Jamie, Brenda & Rick for letting Sugar come to live at The Horse Farm!
Fear is a 13 year old registered liver chestnut Morgan gelding. Fear is exceptionally tolerant and lives up to his namesake well. He is curious about all things involving people and loves to be the center of attention. He is incredibly smooth to ride and teaches both English riding and driving lessons. He is a very easy keeper and loves any type of food dearly as he is always on a diet! Many thanks to Deborah Harp for choosing us to be Fear's new home years ago.
Sunny is a 15 year old light palomino Quarter Horse mare that loves to be brushed and ridden. She is very forward moving with smooth gaits and a light hearted way of going. Always watchful for the next pat on the nose, Sunny enjoys being with people more than horses. Big, little, short or tall Sunny loves everyone. She works both English and Western and is a superb trail horse staying calm and steady. Sunny matches her way of going to the ability of her rider, proving to be a challenge for some and a slow quiet horse for others.
Anna is a registered black Egyptian Arabian mare. She is small in size but large in heart with a big kind eye and soft smooth gaits. She is always alert and pays careful attention to everything that goes on around her. Anna is a sweet willing horse that is tons of fun to ride in the arena or out on the trail. She enjoys her new career as a lesson horse and is a wonderful teacher to all of her riders. Anna loves to be brushed and petted and loves peppermints! We are grateful to Emma McAdams for choosing The Horse Farm to be Anna's new home when she started college.
Nugget is a very wise 37 year old Quarter Pony gelding. He has a gentle spirit and is very quiet. Nugget has been teaching children to ride for longer than anyone can remember and is semi retired, teaching just 3 lessons a week. Thanks to MFA Golden Years and beet pulp, Nugget looks so good you would never guess his age by looking at him. Nugget's duties include property patrol and pocket inspection. Special thanks to Cindy and Tory Chasteen for letting us take home this golden oldie!
March 2006 It is with great sadness that I report our beloved Nugget has gone to greener pastures. His gentle wisdom and sweet spirit will never be forgotten. Farewell my golden friend, I shall never forget you.
