Home School Horse Course
Your “Horse Crazy” kids will love these classes designed especially for homeschoolers at The Horse Farm. Classes include hands on educational activities, lectures and handouts about horses. Students will learn about horse science, horse vocabulary words and figure the cost of owning a horse. Upon conclusion of each course, each student will receive a Certificate of Completion and a gift certificate for one free riding lesson. Contact The Horse Farm to put your name on the waiting list for The Home School Horse Course.
Level One--9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m--3 weekdays to be
announced---$79
Emphasis is on safety and learning beginning horsemanship skills. Topics include how to safely move around horses, lead and tie a horse, stall cleaning, identification of basic horse parts and understanding horse behavior. Basic feeding and management practices will be covered. Grooming and hoof cleaning will be practiced.
Level Two--9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m--3 weekdays to be
announced--$79
Participants must have completed Level One. Emphasis is on safety with continued development of the skills learned in Level One. Topics include increased identification of parts of the horse, breeds of horses, fencing & shelter needs, basic feeding, and equipment care. Students will add to their horse vocabulary and calculate daily & annual expenses of owning a horse.
Level Three--9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m--3 weekdays to be
announced-$79
Participants must have completed Level Two. Emphasis is on safety with further refinement of the skills learned in Level One & Two. Topics include preventative health care, a specialized focus on your favorite breed, identifying gaits of the horse, markings & horse colors and increased horse vocabulary and tacking up.

2008 Registration Information
To register please print out Waiver and Student Information Form and mail with payment to the address below. Please note which Home School Horse Course your child(s) is enrolling in. Home School Horse Course participants must be 6 years of age and wear sturdy shoes that cover their feet. (No sandals, clogs, or canvas shoes.) Please wear everyday clothes and shoes and dress for the weather including coats & gloves. Parents are welcome to attend, but for safety reasons, please only bring those children signed up for the Horse
Course. Due to the popularity of these classes, reservations cannot be accepted without payment in full.
